From our friends across the pond:
Dear All,
I am writing in my capacity as the new Director of the Centre for Baptist Studies at Regent’s Park College Oxford to warmly invite you to our forthcoming day conference: Baptist Women through the Centuries.
The day conference will take place on 30th November 2019, with four speakers exploring the contributions of Barbara Lambe, Anne Dutton, Violet Hedger and Barbara Stanford.
The conference is particularly timely in view of the centenary of Violet Hedger’s admission to ministerial training at Regent’s in 2019. Deborah Rooke’s paper emerges out of her firsthand meeting with Violet Hedger. There will also be a chance to see the new portrait commissioned to mark the centenary.
I have allocated some time for feedback and discussion about the future direction and work of the Centre as we enter this new phase, so I do hope many of you will be able to come along and share your views.
Do please spread the word and pass on details of the event to anyone you know who may be interested.
Best wishes
Chris
