The Baptist Historical Society exists to encourage the study of Baptist history and themes primarily in England and Wales, to promote original research and publication of articles, to seek the preservation of significant records and to urge Baptists to record their own histories.

BHS was founded in the UK in 1908, and members are now found around the world, including Baptist historians, seminarians and Baptist ministers, university libraries and historians of literature, ecclesiastical Dissent and religious traditions.
