From our friends across the Atlantic:
The Baptist Historical Society Annual Lecture, 20 May 2026
Online and in person (in London) on Wednesday May 20th at 2.15 pm BST, on the topic:
The eloquence of silence: what we have omitted to say about Baptist missions in an age of empire
Although the focus is on the (British) Baptist Missionary Society, the lecture will deal with issues common to almost all missionary societies, notably the role of indigenous and other non-European agents in Bible translation, church planting and other aspects of mission work. It will also discuss questions of memory in relation to race and slavery.
Tickets are free but attendees need to register for online as well as in-person attendance. All will be very welcome.
